With the motto of extension of women’s right as the basic principle of all social progress, the Delhi Police’s Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) has launched their website http://www.spuwac.com.
‘With this motto and social responsibility of extension of women’s right as the basic principle of all social progress the SPUWAC has taken an initiative towards voicing the concealed and oppressed voices of the society’s second half, the woman folk,’ a spuwac.com statement said.The website enlists helpline numbers and phone numbers of police officers, the details of various women’s support groups, shelter homes, NGOs and resource centres for women. The portal also invites comments, questions and literary work related to women and children to be put up on the website. A section also lists out various constitutional Acts and laws for the protection of women and children.
